It allows ADATs to slave to SMPTE. It will generate SMPTE, MTC when the ADAT is the master. This means you can use ADATs(or any device that supports ADAT sync) in a blended studio where analog and digital devices are used. This is just the manual for this unit as shown. It has seen light use around the home studio and been stored away safely for several years. It tests and works just as it should with no issues. This is a very handy little box featuring the ability to input up to 3 midi devices and route out to 8 devices in a number of configurations. Built like a tank in a sturdy metal box.
